Fashion designer Stella McCartney is being sued by Bono's wife, Ali Hewson, for using the word 'nude' in the name of her new perfume Stella Nude. Hewson owns a company called Nude Skincare, which sells natural probiotic products. She is claiming the word ‘nude' and the branding used by McCartney are very similar to her own range of products.
Nude products are endorsed by celebrities including supermodels Christy Turlington and Helena Christensen. A Nude Skincare product is also cover-mounted on this month's Harpers Bazaar Magazine.
With products currently stocked in luxury retail stores, including Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Selfridges & Co, the launch of the new site coincides with the brand also being rolled out in all Space NK stores across the UK following an initial trial period.
