Most Designers would die for just a name mention from one celebrity but not designer Manolo Blahnik. Manolo would like to be known for the quality of his craft more so, than the quantity of people who recognize him. Here is what he told Sunday Telegraph: “If people talk to me about Sex And The City I get sick. The taxi drivers recognize me now. It becomes too much and I don’t feel comfortable. I have never wanted to be a celebrity designer.” -Telegraph
I had my first pair of Manolo Blanik at the age of 10 years old. My grandmother purchased them for an Easter Play. So I never assumed to have a pair was ever such a big deal.
