President Obama Will Be Dining At Anna Wintour's House Tonight

Anna Wintour will have Barack Obama over for dinner at her Sullivan Street townhouse to raise money for the Democratic National Committee. Guests will reportedly include fashion liberals like Calvin Klein and Donna Karan, and other important folk with deep enough pockets to pay for a seat, each of which is rumored to cost $30,000.

Lanvin Opens Its First New York City Boutique This Week

Lanvi opened its first New York boutique this week at 815 Madison Avenue. The five-story boutique, of which three story will house the store, with the upper two level housing the company’s corporate headquarters starting in September. The Boutique will offer the brand’s full array of product, from ready-to-wear and accessories to bridal. (The New York boutique is the brand’s third in the U.S., following shops in Bal Harbour and Las Vegas).

Aliona Doletskaya Founder Of Russian Vogue Has Resign From The Magazine After 13 Years

The founding editor-in-chief of Vogue Russia, Aliona Doletskaya, resigned Tuesday, shocking staffers and the fashion world at large. “Aliona’s role in shaping the magazine is so unique that in a certain sense she is irreplaceable,” the president of Condé Nast International, Jonathan Newhouse, said in a memo to staffers obtained by The Daily.

“Some time ago, Aliona Doletskaya told me that she would like to leave the Vogue Russia editor-in-chief’s post, which she has occupied for almost 13 years, and start a new life, probably to write a book or try her hand in a new field,” said Newhouse.

Heat magazine is reporting that Olivia Palermo is caught in her struggle between fame and love.

Show insiders are desperate for Johannes to appear on screen as they are running out of storylines of Olivia. Now she's worried she'll be dropped from the series unless Johannes features, but he has refused, making her choose between fame or love.

Palermo's plotlines on the show have stagnated on her character being a cold fish who refuses to fulfill basic job requirements. None of her personal life is featured in the show and there's hardly even interaction between Parlermo and her co-stars.

"They've discussed the possibility of Johannes being in the show, but he doesn't want to," the source told Heat. "Olivia loves the attention The City brings her. It's going to be a tough decision for her, and she's mad at him for making her choose. "She's always been very adamant about keeping her boyfriend out of the show, but it's getting to the point where he may need to join.

And while their problem wasn't as bad as Hollister or Abercrombie, they destroyed all the panties and other merchandise that may have been affected.Vicky's is also having their other NYC locations tested for bedbugs, just to be on the safe side.

Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were booked to shoot the cover of September's i-D magazine and weren't informed til the last minute,  they'd be sharing the space with Lady Gaga.

"Naomi and Kate refused to play second fiddle to Gaga," said a source, "and insisted on having their own retouching done, so they were shot separately. The issue now has a special pullout so there are technically three covers from three separate shoots."

Beauty Retailer Trade Secret Filed Bankruptcy Chapter 11

Last week, Trade Secret beauty salon chain filed for bankruptcy protection and plans to transfer its 612 salons to a new entity with the backing of Regis Corp, a creditor and former owner.
According to court records, the transaction calls for Regis to enter a venture that will pay $45 million for Trade Secret, including $13 million of assumed liabilities.

Jennifer Lopez takes breaks during a photo shoot on the beach for Gucci to spend time with husband Marc Anthony and kids Max and Emme on Tuesday (July 13) in Malibu, Calif. Jennifer wore two different summer dresses during the shoot, but relaxed in a white robe while rolling around in the sand with her 2-year-old twins. Betsey Johnson To Create Makeup

Betsey Johnson has signed on with Inter Parfums to launch perfumes, personal care products, and makeup.

First on the agenda is a retooling of her original perfume from 1982. "It was a favorite, one of those do-it-yourselfers," she said. "We got as close as we could [to the original formula]," she said of new fragrance with Inter Parfums at a press conference in her New York showroom.

Betsey feels pretty strongly about having a scent in her lineup, explaining, "I think that after some kind of clothing existence, a designer needs a fragrance. It's just like you have dessert after dinner."
