Kate Moss Talks About Why She Stop Doing Interviews

When I used to do interviews a long time ago, I used to get very ill just worrying about them before they came out. I just didn't like it. When I first started out I did press because I wasn't really aware that they would write something really horrible but then they did, and I was like: "Oh no, I don't want to go back there. I don't really want to open up myself to that kind of criticism." And I think that a lot of the time you walk in a room they already know what they want to write about you, so it doesn't matter what you're like.

Alexander McQueen's Second Line McQ Relaunches Cheaper And More Youthful

According to McQueen CEO Jonathan Akeroyd, McQ is a little more edgy’ this time around. True to the McQueen style, there are historic touches, like a lace up jacket, or a mini dickie bow to go with a gothy white shirt and velvet knickerbockers, throughout an otherwise commercial collection aimed at a younger, funky customer.

It also means making prices about 25 percent cheaper, ranging from about $95 for T-shirts to jackets for $405. The brand currently represents about 20 percent of the label's business, but Akeroyd says it's estimated to grow to 35 percent by 2012 under the relaunch.

Barbra says she's always loved barns. "They feel so American to me," she says. And, Barbra believes if you have a barn, you have to have chickens. Her hens lay green eggs.

From the moment she first saw the house, Barbra knew she wanted it and had to wait 11 years to buy it. Barbra says her home, which is located on California's coast, is an homage to craftsmanship (think: woodwork and old beams), great architects and furniture designers like Greene and Greene, Stickley and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. She chronicles this labor of love in her first book, My Passion for Design.

Italian prosecutors on Friday requested the trial of famous fashion house Dolce and Gabbana for alleged tax fraud of around one billion euros (1.4 billion dollars), ANSA news agency reported. The request came from Milan prosecutor Laura Pedio, it said.
Reports last month said investigators had completed an inquiry into founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, as well as five other people. Il Sole 24 Ore business daily reported earlier the company had failed to declare 840 million euros in revenues.
The reported allegation is that Dolce and Gabbana created a company in Luxembourg in 2004 and 2005 which was given control of the group's brands, thereby avoiding Italian taxes. The unpaid taxes amount to 420 million euros, one report said.

Donna Karen Is Being Sued By An Employee Who Was Injured In Her Home

An employee of DKNY founder Donna Karan is suing the designer after a physical therapist allegedly injured her spine at "healing sessions" organised by the designer. Jamie Naughright, of Florida, claims in court papers that she suffered a "herniation of at least one cervical disc" and a "bilateral fracture of her mandibular joint" at the hands of therapist Stephen Robbins. She claims that Ms Karan required certain associates to use the "healing services" of Mr Robbins.
The court papers allege that Mr Robbins violently twisted Ms Naughright's head and neck in the designer's Central Park West apartment. Mr Robbins allegedly told Ms Naughright, "Your breast is dead. I can cure you. You need to be cured." LOL!!

A spokesman for Ms Karan said that "the claims made are completely without merit."

Roberto Cavalli Interview

Robert Cavalli and FamilyRoberto Cavalli gave a very candid interview to W Magazine. The interview is very long so I selected a few excerpts.

“To keep up with the tam-tam of fashion”—he mimics a drumbeat—“we need help from stylists. For Armani, is enough to change one lapel on one jacket. From us the people expect new design, new style, new way to attract the new boyfriend.”

“I tried immediately to have a baby because I was so afraid not to have a baby in my life,” Cavalli said, settling, kinglike, into a baroque leopard-print chair. “My first child was born nine months, 10 days after the wedding. For me, I would expect to have 10! I never understand why God give the possibility to have children just to woman,” he continued, clutching theatrically at his belly. “Oh, my God, my dream would be to have a baby!”

“When I go to a restaurant and they say, ‘We’re fully booked,’ I say, ‘It’s Roberto Cavalli,’ and they say, ‘I will check,’” Cavalli said, clapping his hands with relish. “I love it!”

“It is always about the animal,” Slobodan Mihajlovic, Cavalli’s knitwear designer, told me. “You always have to be ready to find an animal—or even to come up with a new one.”

“Sometimes, because of my success, I am afraid that I was not a good father. With the first two I was too strong, and with the other three I was too weak. I told Tommaso, ‘Take a Ferrari and go to Monte Carlo!’ He said, ‘If I drive a Ferrari, it will be when I am able to buy it myself.’ I say to myself, Okay, Roberto, maybe you were too strict. But Daniele, he take everything. He destroy my Porsche in the highway!”

“I was 18; she was 20,” Cavalli recalled. “I think I give her the first kiss after six months. But I was not innocent—we would go in my Fiat 500! We make love when we married. I remember the first night, our wedding.”

On his 40th-anniversary show, which was to take place in two weeks in Milan: “I will invite the other designers, but they won’t come—they are all shit.”
