British Designer Giles Deacon Is The New Creative Director For Ungaro

The rumours were true, Giles Deacon, is taking over at Emanuel Ungaro where Lindsay Lohan left off. He spent time at the Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, and Gucci studios, among others, and he’s famous for mixing superior craftsmanship with whimsical irreverence.

Ungaro Fired Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is no longer involved in Ungaro. The brand's "artistic advisor," who made fashion infamy last October when showing spangled pasties on the runway of one of the most storied couture houses in Paris, was unceremoniously dismissed from the fashion house sometime this week. Turns out, she wasn't even invited to the show, which was designed by Lohan's former collaborator Estrella Archs. Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro's president and chief executive officer who hired Lohan last fall, resigned from his post in December.

Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige has stepped down from his position. In a brief statement, released this morning, Moufarrige maintains that he will continue to advise the company as a member of its strategic committee, but that he was resigning to focus on his other businesses.

Ungaro Calls Lindsay Collab A Disaster After He Uses Her For Publicity

Ungaro stated to People Magazine, "Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster. "I am

 furious but I can't do anything about it."Ungaro continues, stating that the Paris fashion house

 "is in the process of losing its soul. "That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators 

and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our

 houses, we gave up our souls," said the designer. I honestly dont feel sorry for Ungaro, this was 

all his fault. Now he is blaming Lindsay shame on him for throwing her under the bus.

Ungaro Has Lindsay Working For Free

“Ungaro is not paying Lindsay to be a consultant,” a source tells Page Six. “Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes.”

And while her designs were the laughing stock of the fashion world, it seems Ungaro was in a win-win situation. “The deal is perfect for them – they have nothing to lose, even though the clothes were not a big hit during Paris fashion week,” the insider adds. “Lindsay even paid for her flight and hotel in Paris.” -Page Six

Ungaro And Lindsay Bad Reviews

 WWD called the collection "an embarrassment," adding it looked "cheesy and dated" with an "overworked" heart motif. Lohan, London paper adds, failed to infuse the label with a more youthful sensibility, which was one reason Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige said he hired her. Those pasties left several in yesterday's audience "aghast," according to the NY Times. -Telegraph

Emanuel Ungaro president Mounir Mouffarige recently hired Lindsay Lohan to be artistic adviser to the label's new designer, Estrella Archs. Apparently the talent pool he chose from for this esteemed new position included Madonna, Paris Hilton, and two other unidentified celebrities. He chose Lohan because she offers "something younger, more cool, with a different attitude. -The Cut

Lindsay Lohan Is Now The Artistic Adviser For Emanuel Ungaro

Ungaro has signed Lindsay Lohan as the "artistic adviser" to the label. She will work alongside Cortazar's replacement, 35-year-old essentially unknown designer Estrella Archs, who presents a namesake label at Paris Fashion Week. Lohan won't appear in ads, as previously rumored. Her multi-year contract, the financial terms of which remain unknown, requires her to go to trunk shows and Ungaro events and "be where the activities of the brand are," Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige told WWD. The paper reports:

I personally think this will be either heaven or hell, nothing in between. This could help Lindsay be responsible or she could pull another Elle Magazine situation.
