Gap And Valentino Will Collaborate To Create A Clothing Collection For Gap

Gap and Valentino, will team up to create a womenswear collection to hit stores in late November, WWD reports. Valentino's creative directors will take "iconic Gap pieces" and redesigned them using Valentino's fashion house's aesthetic. Directors at Valentino, Chiuri and Piccioli told WWD the project "brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap's fashion essentials. The collection will not be available in the United States.

Happy 78th Birthday Valentino

Valentino is in New York to celebrate his 78th birthday (he was born May 11, 1932.) Tonight, Giancarlo Giammetti and Bruce Hoeksema will toast Valentino and friends at an intimate celebration at Hoeksema's VBH boutique on Madison Avenue this evening.

Valentino President Calls Designers In Charge At Valentino Collection A Circus

Honorary president of the Valentino Fashion House Giancarlo Giammetti got a little too Facebook-happy earlier this week slamming last month's couture show designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, WWD reports. Giammetti typed that he was "just speechless" after seeing the line and that he was "not sad...just surprised....We have always supported the new designers and we love them, but this time we have to distance ourselves from this ridiculous circus."

Giammetti later deleted his comments due to an overwhelming response on Facebook. I have a feeling when these designer contract expire, they'll be in the bread line.

Valentino’s runway show Tuesday used all the label’s codes - bows and tulle, planted them on most of the garmets. That resulted in a series of cocktail dresses with over-sized ruffles and a large bows in the back. The layers upon layers of lace, rhinestones and ruffles made the frothy clothes seem cluttered.
