Armani Exchange brought a retro ice cream truck to their Robertson concept store, giving attendees a chance to check out their latest denim styles while enjoying delicious ice cream.

Carolina Herrera Get A New President After Operating Eight Months Without One

After eight months of operating without a president, Carolina Herrera has tapped Caroline Brown for the role vacated by Mario Grauso. She will officially join the company on June 1 and oversee the brand's business worldwide. Caroline Brown previously served as U.S. CEO of Akris and senior vice president of marketing and communications at Giorgio Armani Corporation.

Armani To Close Its Dallas Store

Armani announced that its 5,300 square foot store in NorthPark will close, leaving the line with 12 collection stores in the United States. The NorthPark store located in Dallas is located directly across from Neiman Marcus, the store carried an extensive Armani selection for both women and men.

Director Of Communications At Miu Miu Heads To Armani

As part of a restructuring plan, Rod Manly, director of public relations and media planning for Armani, will move to New York to take over public relations for George Kolosa, who left in December to join Burberry. Yannick Angelloz-Nicoud, head of communications at Miu Miu, will take over as head of communications at Armani.

Giorgio Armani To Host Leonardo DiCaprio And Scorsese "Shutter Island" Premiere Party During Fashion Week

To celebrate the New York premiere of Shutter Island, Martin Scorsese’s new film, Armani is hosting a cocktail party at the Armani hotel in NYC. Coincidently, the premiere ties in with the first anniversary of Armani’s opening of his Fifth Avenue store in the Big Apple. Armani said he is happy to share the celebrations with close friends Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the lead in the all-new film.”The party will take place Tuesday February 16, during New York Fashion Week.

Armani sent out a memo today indicating that his Armani Prive couture presentation next Monday is being moved back from 7:30 pm to 9 pm, due to what he calls an “unexpected and unjustifiable” time change by Christian Dior. He goes on to call Dior's move “indicative of a lack of respect for other people’s time and labor.” 21 days until fashion week and the drama is already stewing lol.

Armani Hotel Dubai Will Debut In March

Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and Emaar Properties have collaborated to open Armani Hotel Dubai, the first hotel under this partnership. Located in the word's tallest building, the Burj Dubai tower, the Armani Hotel Dubai is the first of a series of hotels and residences designed by Giorgio Armani to be opened up around the world.

Online bookings will go live late January 2010, and potential guests can register online at www.armanihotels.com to receive further details about the hotel. The doors will officially open on March 18, 2010.

Alice Bon, formerly public relations director at Giorgio Armani, has been named director of worldwide product editorial, archive and public relations at Gucci.

Francis Sango, formerly national sales manager at Ferragamo Menswear, has been named vice president of wholesale for Bally North America.

Armani Nominated To Fill Italian Senate

On Monday, Santo Versace sent a letter to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano nominating Armani to the Italian Senate. The president has the power to appoint certain members who are recognized for their lifetime achievements. Versace wrote, "Armani is the best candidate to receive the nominee for senator for life," and "the image of our country would've been very different without" Armani's contributions to fashion. Versace himself is a member of the lower house of Parliament and of Mr. Berlusconi's party. - Wall Street Journal

Giorgio Armani Hepatitis Diagnosis Force Changes Within The Brand

Giorgio Armani hepatitis diagnosis, has forced him to cut back his work load and bring 

in more assists. Spectators at his Spring 2010 runway show said Armani appeared very fraile. Although he avoided questions about naming a successor last week, saying he does plan to slow down, Armani recently announced three senior management changes. 

“The illness made me understand that you can’t joke with your life. For years, I ignored myself completely until I received this blow, which happened for a reason. I realized I had to be more careful. All the stress and mental and physical possibilities take their toll." He admitted to working shorter hours, but also noted that, “during my illness, I realized how much I need creative outlets."
