Gucci Ex President Daniella Vitale Is Now Barneys New Vice President

Mark Lee, who became CEO of Barneys in September, has named Daniella Vitale (Gucci former president) as chief merchant and executive vice president overseeing all of womenswear and Barneys.com. Vitale will be filling Judy Collinson old position, who is leaving along with another Barneys veteran, senior vice president and women’s fashion director Julie Gilhart. The retailer announced that both employees are departing to “pursue other opportunities.”

Supermodel Linda Evangelist Baby Daddy Is Salma Hayek's Husband Francois Henri Pinault Head Of The Gucci Group

Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista has split with her fiance Peter Morton (founder of Hard Rock), reports Page Six. Some members of Peter's family were not too fond of her, and were dismayed when she appeared last Thanksgiving with a large diamond ring on her finger. The marriage never happened. 


Update: There is also gossip going around that Evangelista's son was secretly fathered by none other than Salma Hayek's husband, head of Gucci Group, Francois-Henri Pinaul. Her son and Salma's daughter are the same age, which means both children were conceived around the same time. According to a friend at another gossip site Linda may have signed an agreement apart of her child support to not publicly speak on this matter. Word is there was a huge trust establish for her son.

Under The Radar: Gucci Prevents Models From Walking Burberry And Rock Republic Rescued From Bankruptcy

According to rumors, Gucci demanded all girls cast in their show fly into Milan, pronto. Which left Burberry's usual all-star London lineup Freja Beha Erichsen and Lily Donaldson not able to particapate in Burberry's show line up.


The controversial founder of Rock & Republic, Michael Ball, will avoid filing chapter 11. A New York firm that owns Liz Lange maternity wear will fund the company $60 million, under the agreement Rock & Republic's will expand into new product lines.

Gucci Will Stop Using Logos And All Of The Fashion Houses They Own Such As Stella McCartney, McQueen, Balenciaga, & YSL Will Follow Suit

Friday, when reporting on Gucci Group earnings, CEO Francois-Henri Pinault noted: “Our groups are moving away from logos, more discreet luxury. A luxury which is more subtle, more sophisticated — which is what we are doing.” This mode won't be hard to put into practice for a number of the Gucci group's brands, already do without much logoed merchandise,  Stella McCartney,Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta.  


This makes me very pleased. I hate wearing logos, it just tacky.

Gucci And YSL Gets New Presidents

The Gucci Group, parent company to both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has shuffled its top executives. Laura Lendrum has been named president of Gucci America, effective August 1. Currently, Lendrum serves as president of YSL.


 Brant Cryder, most recently vice president of retail at Prada will become the president at YSL. Cryder will report to YSL president and CEO Valerie Hermann. 


Former Gucci America president Daniella Vitale departed from the company at the end of May to “pursue other interests.”

Olympic Tower has belonged to the Guccis family since the 1970s. The current owners, Maurizio Gucci's daughters, don't actually live there, and now they're trying to rent the place out, the Wall Street Journal reports. For $60,000 a month. The place comes unfurnished.
