Jimmy Choo Founder Tamara Mellon Wins The Lawsuit Against Her Mother

The legal case between Tamara Mellon and her mother has been settled, after a legal battle that has been ongoing since 2008. The iconic shoe guru and founder of Jimmy Choo received $6 million from 70-year-old Ann Yeardye her mother, a former Chanel model, after the two camps came to a settlement last week.

The pair clashed after Tamara Mellon, who made $100 million from her footwear empire, sold the shoe label to an investment group; but an accounting error meant some shares were mistakenly transferred to a family account run by Mrs Yeardye. Yeardye allegedly refused to return them, calling the claims that a mistake had been made "erroneous'' and launching a counter complaint against her daughter for fraud and breach of contract.

Yves Saint Laurent Auction Raised 18 Million Dollars For Aids Research

A four-day auction of late french designer Yves Saint Laurent's artwork and the everyday objects that packed his residences has raised 18 million dollars, Christie's auction house said on Friday. The nearly 1200 lots included art, fancy boxes to ivory statuettes. It also included practical objects like rugs, lamps and beds. The proceeds from Friday's auction will go to Aids and other medical research. Job well done!

This would free time and resources to focus on a global strategy. 

Gucci will reap an estimated $6 billion from the sale of its retail businesses, analysts say. Mr. Pinault wants to use that cash to shop for other apparel and accessories brands to create a new mass-market division of luxury goods.
