Karen Klok Anderegg Ex Editor In Cheif For Elle Magazine And President For Clinique Has Died

Karen Klok Anderegg, a longtime women's fashion magazine executive who broke ground by weaving health issues into fashion magazines died on January 2, 2011, at her winter home in Palm Springs. She was 70. Anjderegg was editor in cheif at both Mademoiselle and Elle magazines (1985-1990). She became president of Clinique Laboratories Inc. in 1991. 


Anderegg was diagnosed with cancer at a late stage in 2004. True to form, she researched the cancer, kept meticulous records and pushed for treatment she felt best fit her circumstances. 

Newsstand Sales For 2010 September Issues Drastically Declined For Elle, Vogue, Instyle & W Magazine

According to statistics from the Audit Bureau of Circulations, major fashion magazines sales took a dip compared to 2009 September issues. Here is the list:
W Magazine down 14 percent to 30,000 copies.
Elle down 10 percent to 390,000 copies.
 InStyle down 6 percent to 800,000 copies.
Vogue  down 5.5 percent to 540,000 copies.
Marie Claire up 1 percent to 338,273 copies.
Glamour up 1 percent to 624,000 copies.
Harper's Bazaar up 22 percent to 255,000 copies.

Elle Magazine New Office Gets Robbed By Burglars

After Elle's Broadway office was infested with bedbugs, their office moved to the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce building—a.k.a. the Time, Inc. building on Avenue of the Americas. Now comes word that the new building was robbed. The NY Post reports:
As the fashion title moved into its new offices in the Time-Life Building at 1271 Sixth Ave., an e-mail was sent this week warning employees to watch their belongings. "We're sorry to report that we have experienced several incidences of theft over the last few days. We are making sure we have locks available tomorrow . . . In the meantime, we urge you all to lock up your laptops or take them home with you until we have a way to secure them."

Rachel Zoe will make a cameo in one of the show's upcoming episodes, as part of a storyline based on Blair Waldorf's 20th birthday party, a source confirms to the New York Daily News.
"Rachel plays herself in the scene and has a handful of lines”, the insider said, adding that designer Cynthia Rowley and Elle magazine's creative director, Joe Zee, will also make guests appearances in the same episode.


Elle Magazine Close Down Its Office Due To Bed Bugs Infestation

An internal memo sent to Elle employees last week informing them of  bed bug infestation at its 44th floor offices at 50th and Broadway in Manhattan. It requested staff work from home through Aug. 23 while exterminators eradicate the bugs. 

The mag's parent company, Hachette Filipacchi Media, also said a specially trained exterminator had confirmed the infestation, the paper reports.

Candy's harsh words are a sad reality for the actress, whose dwindling career is often overshadowed by her dramatic lifestyle.
