Tom Ford Senior Citizen Ad The Reason French Vogue Editor In Chief Got Fired
Tom Ford's senior citizen spread for French Vogue's December issue, is said to have been the straw that broke the camel's back between Rotifeld and the higher ups at French Vogue. Roitfeld last month told a source that her bosses received complaints from advertisers over the Ford issue. “I was killed for that,” Roitfeld said. According to several close to the matter, Roitfeld offered to resign when the issue of her management came under question (she was frequently out of the office on shoots). She could have been bluffing, but her resignation was accepted.
Word to the wise, never offer up your resignation, no matter what! Management can be ruthless and take you up on your offer. Not only will you be jobless but not able to collect unemployment benefits. This is ok for Rotifeld because she's a season pro who will snag another gig in no time but for small time punks like us, do not try this at home lol.
Nars Open Its New Flagship Store
Francois Nars hosted an intimate gathering Wedsenday to celebrate and ceremoniously cut the ribbon on the brand's first flagship boutique.
Nars will be collaborating with longtime friend and store next-door neighbor, Marc Jacobs (who posed in red lips and fingernails for Nars' 15x15 book). Nars has been working with the designer since Jacobs' days at Perry Ellis and will be doing the makeup for his upcoming February 14th show during New York Fashion Week.
Gap's President Marka Hansen Has Been Fired Over A Laundry List Of PR Mishaps
Last Monday January 31, 2011 Gap announced that Marka Hansen would be leaving the company (terminated). February 4, 2011 was her last day with the company. Gap has been dealing with a laundry list of public relation issues last year and presently. Read the mounting issues below.

The children were hired by an unauthorized subcontractor used by one of the company’s Indian vendors to fill orders. Gap also dealt with similar allegations in 2000 and 2006.

Barneys New York Chief Executive Mark Lee says Prada is no longer selling any new goods but shoes and menswear at Barneys in what he said was fallout from a spat over pricing and inventory control.Mr. Lee says Prada asked to operate under a "concession" model, in which the brand leases space from the retailer, but controls its own inventory and markdowns. Mr. Lee says Barneys rejected the request.

In an interview with the French paper Le Journal du Dimanche, Xavier Romanet, Chairman of Condé Nast, France, said that his group is working hard to launch the French version of Vanity Fair. Word is ex head of Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld will head the new venture. If successful, french Vanity Fair would launch in 2012.

Prada fashion house, said it will start the process for selling shares in an initial public offering in Hong Kong, as rising incomes in China rise demand for luxury goods.
